AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY

Mary-Jo Holmes' writing passion focused in the romance genre. As a freelance writer, Mary-Jo has penned dozens of fiction and non-fiction articles for local publication, interviewed the New York Yankees, as well as critiqued and judged manuscripts for the Romance Writers of America’s local and national fiction contest. Most recently as an educational consultant with a background in English, Mary-Jo has lectured and tutored prospective college students on the components of outstanding admissions essays.  She is a Regional Representative for the National Association of Women Writers and founded/hosts a monthly writers group.  She's also a member of Romance Writers of America, and is an active volunteer for the National Center for Family Literacy (www.familylit.org).  

Mary-Jo’s other credits include scriptwriting where she has collaborated on a police drama series pitched to cable television as well as written scripts for episodic television and The Romance Channel.

Outside of writing, Mary-Jo maintains a rounded life with her family, involved in various community service organizations such as D.A.R.E., American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org), St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), the Lance Armstrong Foundation (www.laf.org), and has coached little league, cheerleading, and choreographed a dance squad. 

In the near future, Mary-Jo hopes to announce plublication of her other novels: Unlike Any Other  (gothic/vampire romance), The Conversation (literary fiction), Two Weeks in Curacao (contemporary romance), as well as her works-in-progress: Paler Shade of Midnight (historical romance), Triangle of Deception (romantic suspense), A Question of Intent (romantic suspense), Stages of Love (contemporary fiction), and Foresaken (contemporary western romance).
